It’s been too long.

Hello Blog,

I have decided to update this old blog just to give an update on the following year and what’s happening next In my world.

Hello,

I hope this message finds you in good health and looking forward to christmas.

First of all I need to say a massive thank you for your support for the #LondonStrut yesterday, it was an amazing day and boy, did we raise awareness and a MASSIVE £832.17p.

Your money doesn’t go towards research but will be spent on awareness, the message is plain and simple, testicular cancer doesn’t need to be a killer, it is so treatable if caught, diagnosed and treated early enough, it’s that basic. The challenge is getting men and boys openly checking, talking and seeking help about anything you/they do find. If men were as open and as actively checking as ladies do their breasts, we most probably wouldn’t loose another life…again it’s that simple!

Our walk started with approximately 50 giant testicles made up from survivors, friends of survivors and two very well known models, Lucy Pinder and Rhian Sugden.

We covered nearly five and a half miles through some of the most famous landmarks speaking to everyone on the way. The reception we received from the locals and tourists alike was fantastic and I’m sure we successfully got the people we engaged with going homing knowing the importance of self checking.

Incase there was any need to question weather campaigns of this nature work all you need to do is speak to one of our fellow walkers, Frederico Cardoso he watched a very well made video on YouTube called, ‘Rhian touches herself’ which sounds rather frisky but in fact this Male Cancer Awareness Campaign video saved his life. After watching the video he went into his bathroom and checked his testicles and found a lump, went straight to his GP and within hours was diagnosed with Testicular Cancer and his urologist informed him that the video is to thank for his successful treatment against the decease.

The video is here, please watch, share and remember the importance of self checking.

THAT awareness video

I must also point out that after the walk I have received a lot of advice regarding my own mental health and your donation has enabled me to find these great people who might have now given me the confidence to fight my doctors into giving me further post orchidectomy treatment.

Here are some if the eagerly awaited photos from the event.

Thanks again for your support and please remember to try and help break the taboo connected to speaking about male cancers.
